Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter

This small, local animal shelter is the perfect place to find your next pet. There are multiple animals sent to the Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter, and they are awaiting a warm and cozy home. This shelter is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. So, be sure to stop by at your earliest convenience.

The Process of Adopting a Pet

First things first, how much does it cost?

At the time of adoption, prospective pet owners must pay a $100 fee.

Afterwards, there is a 30 day timeline to have sterilizations for your new pet (dog or cat) completed.

Dog Sterilizations

Sterilizations for your pup will include the following:

1.) A heartworm blood test.

**Heartworm prevention pills are recommended. Keep in mind that these are priced at a higher rate.**

2.) A rabies vaccination.

3.) A distemper/parvo (DHLP) vaccination.

**If adopting a puppy, your pet may require additional DHLP vaccinations in the future. These additional vaccinations are will be an additional cost.**

4.) A worm vaccination for roundworms and hookworms.

5.) A spray or neuter. (For puppies, this surgery must be scheduled for a later date.)

**The neutering services range from $150 – $200 for dogs.**

Cat Sterilizations

Sterilizations for your cat will include the following:

1.) A feline rhinotracheitis/calicilpanleukopenia/chlamydia (FVRCP) vaccination.

2.) A rabies vaccination.

3.) A worm vaccination for roundworms and hookworms.

4.) A spray or neuter. (For kittens, this surgery must be scheduled for a later date.)

**The neutering services range from $170 – $200 for cats.**
