The 2018 Malibu has the space for up to five passengers with front seats that are comfortable for any ride length. The back seats are very spacious, having more leg-room than the average mid-size sedan. If you have car-seat needs, you bet you’ll be safe with the two sets of LATCH anchors on the outboard seats and the middle seat tether anchor. The Malibu’s trunk has a spacious 15.8 cubic feet, deeper than it appears from the exterior. The seats in the back fold down, which helps haul larger items that require more space than the trunk.
Standard technology features for the 2018 Malibu are keyless entry, push button start, six-speaker audio system, and Rear Seat Reminder. The Malibu has two turbocharged engines. The 1.5L turbo and the 2.0L turbo. The 1.5L engine is standard and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It has 160 horsepower, enough for daily driving needs and fuel efficiency. The engine uses variable valve timing, direct injection, and stop/start technology to help save fuel and be more efficient. The 2.0L engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 250 horsepower.
