The Chevrolet Tahoe is the second largest SUV in the automaker’s lineup, but it should have more than enough space for everything you need, as it isn’t much smaller than the Suburban. With three rows of seats, you can easily fit the entire family and still have an expansive cargo area. Of course, folding down the rear rows of seats, each of which split for added versatility, can further expand your cargo space, giving you more than enough room for several bicycles, camping gear, furniture, or anything else you need to bring with you. In addition to being spacious, the Tahoe is capable and powerful, letting you tow a trailer or boat with ease. It also stands out in terms of interior luxuries with advanced technology, such as Wi-Fi connectivity and an 8-inch touchscreen for Chevrolet MyLink, and premium comforts, such as leather seating. Factor in the unbeatable highway mileage and off-roading capabilities, and the Chevy Tahoe makes perfect sense.
While the 2020 Chevy Tahoe doesn’t offer too many new features for the year, it still continues to give drivers plenty to love. For instance, this large SUV comes with three distinct trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier. On top of these trims, you have the ability to choose from several unique packages as well. For engine options, the Tahoe can be had with a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque or a 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
When it comes to features, the Tahoe is filled to the brim. On the technology front, you receive Bluetooth®*, an 8-inch touchscreen, USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, OnStar Communications, a 4G LTE connection, a wireless charging pad, and many others. For comfort, you’ll enjoy the power-adjustable seats, heated first and second-row seats, ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory settings, leather upholstery, and more. For safety, you gain a teen-driver monitoring system, xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning and intervention, forward collision warning, and more.
The first Chevrolet Tahoe you will find will be the 1995 model year, although this vehicle was based on the 1969 Chevrolet Blazer with two doors. The first Tahoe was a four-door version of the former Blazer and had updated door panels, new seats, and a restyled dashboard along with standard driver’s side airbags. Chevrolet increased engine output in 1996 and a second generation debuted in 2000. This generation had a new platform and was completely redesigned on all but the top Limited trim. The StabiliTrak system arrived in 2003 and a new generation began in 2007. The 6.2-liter V8 engine was added in 2009, bringing the Tahoe closer to its current form.
It is easy to see why the Tahoe is popular with the drivers who are looking for plenty of room, a powerful engine and above average handling capabilities.
