2025 Silverado 1500 buyers can choose from three cab variants. The Regular Cab is a two-door variant that can seat up to three adults with its 40-20-40 split-bench seat. Next are two four-door cabs that can seat up to five adults. The double cabin is roomy enough for families, but the crew cabin comes with a spacious 139 cubic feet of interior volume. This is more than most two-row midsize SUVs. The 2025 Tundra only comes with two four-door cabs. Its roomiest Crew Max cab only has 122 cubic feet of space.
These two models have standard Bluetooth® as well as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. They also have touchscreen infotainment systems and large digital gauge clusters in higher trims. The 2025 Silverado 1500 can also be equipped with Google Built-In and Amazon Alexa for higher trims, as well as a heads-up display and a wireless phone charger. Music fans can select Bose speaker system upgrades for either model.
The 2025 Silverado 1500 offers a luxurious interior if buyers desire. Leather seat upholstery and open-pore wood interior accents are available. The front seats can be specified with heating, ventilation and power adjustment. Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear passenger air vents can also be chosen. The 2025 Tundra has some, but not all, of these features.
The 2025 Silverado 1500 offers multiple cargo bed lengths depending on cab choice. Lower trims come with a standard downward-opening tailgate. Higher trims can be fitted with GM’s Multi-Flex tailgate, which offers six functions, including a regular tailgate, a half-height gate, a load stop, a work surface, a step, and more. The tailgate is rated to support up to 375 lbs. The 2025 Tundra doesn’t have a similarly versatile tailgate.
Buyers can also select the Multi-Flex Audio System by Kicker when equipped with the Multi-Flex tailgate. This adds a fully independent Bluetooth sound system with a weatherproof audio package and 100 watts of power within the tailgate. The 2025 Tundra doesn't offer a similar feature, but it does offer in-bed power, which the 2025 Silverado 1500 offers as well.
2025 Silverado buyers can pick from four powertrain choices: a TurboMax four-cylinder turbocharged engine or two naturally aspirated V8 engines. The 5.3-liter unit provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter unit makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. For those who need diesel power, a 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque is available. The V8s and the turbodiesel are matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for select trims. Others are only available with four-wheel drive. Some trims also come with Chevy's Multimatic DSSV adaptive dampers. 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler M/T tires, stronger suspension, and up to 2 inches of lift from the factory are available.
The 2025 Tundra only has a 3.4-liter turbocharged V6 engine. Lower trims come with 348 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims have 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic gearbox is standard. Buyers may opt for rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. There’s no turbodiesel or gasoline V8 variant.
Every 2025 Silverado 1500 is equipped with a forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Most trims also include rear cross-traffic alerting and blind-spot monitoring. Buyers can opt for adaptive cruise control, or SuperCruise, which is a semi-autonomous system that offers hands-free driving. There's also a surround-view camera system with up to 14 views, including trailer monitoring. The 2025 Tundra has some of these safety features.
